Frequently asked questions

What can I see in the chapter portal?

You can see your chapter’s money available, submissions, and recent financial activity. Personal bank details and staff-only accounting records are kept out of the portal.

Can I see another chapter's money?

No. Your account is linked only to approved chapters, and every page checks that link again. If you help more than one chapter, you can deliberately choose between only those chapters.

How do I claim an expense?

Choose Submit, then Claim an expense. Add the amount and purpose, upload your receipt, confirm who should be paid, and review everything before sending.

What counts as a receipt?

Use a shop receipt, supplier invoice, or other document that clearly shows what was bought, the date, and the amount. You can upload a photo, screenshot, HEIC image, or PDF; keep the original until the claim is complete.

How long will a reimbursement take?

The national team aims to pay an approved claim within seven days. Your Activity page shows the latest status, and the team will contact you if more information is needed.

How do I tell Raise about sponsorship or incoming money?

Choose Submit, then Tell us about money coming in. This helps the national team recognise the payment when it reaches the bank; it does not change your balance until the real payment is matched.

What should I use ‘Ask the national team’ for?

Use it for any chapter finance question that is not an expense claim or expected payment—for example, an unfamiliar transaction, a spending rule, or a correction.

Why do I need training and when does it expire?

Expense training protects chapter money and explains the evidence Raise must keep. A pass is valid for 365 days, while chapter access is reset separately on 1 August.

What happens when my access expires?

Your account and history are preserved, but chapter information is locked. Chapter access is revoked automatically on 1 August; the national team can invite approved leaders for the new year.

Who can see my bank details and receipt?

Only authorised national finance team members can access payment details and receipts. Bank details are encrypted, excluded from exports, and removed under Raise’s retention rules.

Who should I contact if something looks wrong?

Use Ask the national team from Submit, or email treasurer@joinraise.org if you cannot sign in. Include the submission reference when you have one, but never email full bank details.
